The United Nations Association of Rochester is dedicated to supporting and strengthening the United Nations system and the role of the United States in that system in the Greater Rochester area by promoting multilateral efforts to advance the goals of the United Nations Charter, such as human rights and global peace.

The United Nations Association of Rochester is a community chapter of the United Nations Association of America (UNA-USA) and is a membership organization dedicated to inform, inspire, and mobilize the American people to support the ideals and vital work of the United Nations. Since 1945, UNAR has worked to accomplish it’s mission through its Internship Program, UN Day Programming, and Model United Nations Conference all hosted locally in the Rochester Area.

Our year round internship program is fundamental to our organization and our interns have the opportunity to with our Board of Directors to plan, promote, and facilitated our key initiatives like UN Day and our Model United Nations Conference.

Support UN Day & Model United Nations Conference
The United Nations Association of Rochester facilitates three key programs in the Rochester, New York Area:
Model UN Conference: UNAR hosts the Model United Nations Conference for over 500 local high school students from the Central and Western, New York areas.
UN Day: Each October, UNAR chooses a focus to promote, discuss and support an relevant issue in our community and partners with the local Rochester community organizations and allies to discuss and educate students, members and community members on the selected topic.
