Communications Chair
UNAR is seeking experienced individual with expertise in marketing and communications to join our UNAR Board.
Our communications Chair will collaborate with our Membership Chair and Interns to provide timely and comprehensive information to chapter members about programs, events, and activities related to UNAR via chapter publications like our website and social media platforms.
As UNAR is looking to expand our digital presence, we are looking for a creative and positive individual to help us create and maintain a favorable image of the chapter by keeping membership and local partners informed of chapter projects, activities, and events, and by disseminating all other relevant information.

Key Responsibilities

The board for UNAR meets every 3rd Saturday of the month for usually an hour and half. There will additional meetings with board members and staff and we expect board members to attend our UN Day event each year in October and Model UN in March if time allows.

Our board members work virtually with hopes for us to have our previous office space at St. John Fisher University available for Board Members to utilize again once the library renovation project in complete.

Create, maintain, and continually update chapter publications which currently include: UNAR Social Media (Instagram, X, Facebook) and website.
Coordinate communications with our Membership Chair and Interns to most effectively reach current members and community partners.
Monitor UNA-USA, state, and local government activities and provide timely information on public policy issues relevant to UNAR to chapter and Board members.
Maintain and continually update UNAR website for content which may include: editing web pages, posting documents, creating new links, and posting UNAR chapter information as needed.
Respond to members’ suggestions, problems, and questions regarding the website and social media.
Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic planning for the chapter’s social media and marketing.
Depending on Intern recruitment facilitate and mentor Social Media Interns and utilize their skillsets to assist in bolstering UNAR’s digital presence
Provide monthly updates at the Board of Directors meeting

Be a UNAR member in good standing. Basic dues to UNA USA $50.00
UNAR Board Dues $10.00/month or $120.00/year
