Approximately 2-5 hours/week. The board for UNAR meets every 3rd Saturday of the month for usually an hour and half. There will additional meetings with board members and staff and we expect board members to attend our UN Day event each year in October and Model UN in March if time allows.

Our board members work virtually with hopes for us to have our previous office space at St. John Fisher University available for Board Members to utilize again once the library renovation project in complete.

• Submit 1 grant proposal for UNAR specific programs (UN Day, Model UN, Internship Program)/quarter

• Maintain accurate grant records including: applications, approvals, and portal logins. Ensuring are all accurately tracked in UNAR’s Google Drive for easy access

• Report grant progress to Board Members at monthly board meetings

• Build and Maintain a relationship with Rochester Area Community Foundation leadership for grant purposes

• Collaborate with various board members to get information necessary for grant proposal

• Solicit sponsorships in a variety of ways that support UNAR’s main programming goals. This includes but is not limited to:

  • University sponsorship: Create relationships with local colleges and universities (RIT, St. John Fisher, Nazareth, Monroe Community College) and establish pathways for sponsorship 

  • Event sponsorship: can include working with businesses to promote their brands at your event and in return receiving funding for your chapter. 

  • Individual sponsorship: involves donations from community or partner organizations at designated 

• Collaborate with board members to create at least one fundraising event/year outside of UN Day and Model UN

• Live full-time in Rochester, New York

• Be a UNA-USA member in good standing. Basic dues to UNA USA $50.00

• UNAR Board Dues $10.00/month or $120.00/year
