Our Programs

Coffee Hours: UNAR hosts a variety of informative coffee hour talks about international and global affairs. Each month at the coffee hours, people talk about a pressing issue from around the world ranging from oil in Africa to world hunger. Attendence is open to the public and we strongly encourage you to attend and discuss the issue or simply listen to other views and opinions.

Model UN: Model UN is a UNA-USA program which teaches hundreds of high school students how the United Nations works by giving them the opportunity to conduct a Model UN where they work out their own solutions to real international problems. For the past 36 years, UNAR supported this UNA-USA program by holding an annual spring Model UN conference in the Rochester area. Furthermore, UNAR is proud to support the fall Hilton Model UN conference.

While in Rochester, each of the journalists is hosted by an area family to facilitate the diffusion of world cultures. The weekend is completed with a dinner where the visiting journalists share information about their home country and experiences there as a journalist.
